Chess the Musical is written by ABBA founders and group members Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson. Ann Sophie currently plays the female lead Florence Vassy. A sensitive and strong woman who is in the search of stability and love and finds herself in a twisted emotional triangle between the two Chess players Frederick Trumper who she manages and Anatoly Sergievsky who she later manages and falls in love with. The scene is set in the 80s during the Cold War and is centred around the Chess world championship.
